Chanel Byzance Makeup Collection

Karl Lagerfeld’s collection ‘Paris-Byzance’ pre-fall 2011 for Chanel represented the starting point for the fabulous makeup palette Lumieres Byzantines created by Peter Philips, global creative director for Chanel Makeup. This collection is dedicated for the modern Theodora empresses who might be Chanel’s clientele of today.

Karl Lagerfeld was inspired for his pre-fall 2011 collection by Byzantium, one of Coco Chanel’s major inspirations when she was the first to launch a line of costume jewelry in the 1920s.
The muse is Empress Theodora in the Byzantine Era, where the Empire remained as one of the most powerful economic, cultural, and military forces in Europe, despite setbacks and territorial losses.

At the parade Paris Byzantium Chanel Peter Philips envisioned a makeup palette with five shades of the Byzantine name of Enlightenment. To design such a valuable object, Peter Philips was inspired jewelry baroque mind realized that the House Goosens for Gabrielle Chanel in the 1950s.

”Side texture, these cosmetics are in the form of cream, apply by buttons on the face and eyelids. The central eye, as clear, as the eyebrow point light, apply mascara to the right rather on top of cheekbones to make shine. The gold is applied to the whole eyelid, while the lower shadow find its place in the inner corner of eye. The last shadow, brown metallic, is applied as an eye-liner, lash lower. But will we want to use the risk of damaging the sublime palette? That is the question.

Citrus Print Summer Collection by Stella McCartney

"We wanted skirts to go longer for next spring/summer, but we didn't want it to look - dare I say it - 'mumsy'. I wanted long, but I also wanted legs," says Stella McCartney .
Her new, long, leggy look was showcased in a series of silk dresses, and culottes, worn with open-back tops. McCartney added a splash of citrus in a bold oranges and lemons fruit print, as well as sexy dresses with thigh-high splits. For the feet, the theme was all about keeping it casual featuring faux-leather sandals and stacked heels.
When she first presented the Spring/Summer 2011 Citrus Print Collection in the neo-baroque salons of Paris's Opéra Garnier, drew a stellar front row cast, including Francois-Henri Pinault, the chairman and CEO of the PPR luxury group - (which includes Stella McCartney Gucci, Balenciaga, Yves Saint Laurent, and Alexander McQueen in its fashion stable) - and his actress wife, Salma Hayek; Sir Paul McCartney, and his girlfriend, Nancy Shevell; Sir Peter Blake; Liv Tyler; the singer, Beth Ditto; and the French actresses, Elsa Zylberstein, and Zoe Felix.
The ad campaign was shot by photographer Mert & Mercus which managed to capture the essence of Stella McCartney Citrus Print Collection as is very delicious and straightforward in its take on fashion.

Swimwear Trends for Summer 2011

Summer season is weeks away and with it vacation time too, so if you haven’t bought the new bikini yet it’s about time you do it!
There are many styles you can choose from but if you wanna shine on the beach and have all the eyes on you then you should pick something from the trend of Summer 2011: revealing string bikinis, unusual knitted ones, sexy but charming vintage swimsuits, etc.
Lets count it down, while you decide which pick is right for you:

Metals and Sequins - you can go simple with just an O-shaped ring between the triangles of your bikini top or wear the trend to its full strength having the top richly embellished with sequins, studs or tiny creative pieces of metal.

One-Shoulder - this trend has come to swimwear from dresses and brought the same feeling of sexuality and seductiveness. You might not feel very comfortable swimming in it but it is great for posing beside the pool or at the seaside. Try either monokini or bikini to understand which style looks best on you.

Bandeaus - this bikini comes as a fantastic alternative to ordinary triangle bikinis. Look for bandeaus in new styles, exciting colors and interesting prints. But beware of wearing these trendy pieces if you have a big bust.

Small prints - bold prints are not the best while smaller ones are more favorable. Opt for geometric prints, florals, elaborate patterns – everything you like. Another trendy choice can be a large single print at one side or corner of your swimsuit. But take into account the fact if the print is on bra attention will inevitably go to your breast, if you don’t want that try a swimsuit with a print on bottom, which will focus attention on your waist.

Romantic Ruffles - ruffles are ruling the fashion world this summer , tiny or demure, ruffles will look nice at the neckline, down the middle of a one-piece, along the bottom of a tankini top, covering the entire brief bikini top, or tiered with several layers on the bottom.

Vintage - fashion changes every season, but vintage always remains popular because it exudes sexiness without revealing too much. This style is perfect for women who are shy to show off their bodies but want to look tempting. Subdued colors, cute prints, low cuts, ruffles – all these will be very hot in 2011.

Soft Colors - despite the fact we have seen many swimsuits in vibrant colors those in soft hues are definitely prevalent. Light green and blue, delicate rosy and violet, white and beige – these colors are to be trendy this season. And they do have the visual advantage: attention is accentuated on the body rather than the swimsuit itself.

String bikinis - these bikinis are the tiniest of all other swimwear styles, so only the most daring girls go for these. String bikinis look very sexy and normally attract plenty of attention on the beach. If you ready to be devoured string bikini is what you need.

Knitted swimwear - knitted swimwear pieces are again in vogue. They are presented in few collections but look so beautiful that people tend to choose them pretty often. You can go for a bright piece to have all eyes on the beach on you or opt for more modest items.
